Yesterday I wrote about my upcoming trip to Walnut Grove and directed our new visitors to the Landon Legacy article. I thought I would sort of continue that line of conversation. It's been over a year now since I started the Fans of Believe Pictures group. Although the website that you are on right now was just recently created, Fans of Believe Pictures started on Facebook, and that still is our main form of communication. There are over 300 members now, and that still blows my mind from time to time! I couldn't feel more blessed that one common thing could connect so many people... That is not including the Hearties group, which is now over 28,000 people! Congratulations, you have become a true cyber family and a force to be reckoned with when it comes to supporting When Calls the Heart. :-). It was soon after I found the Hearties group that I realized that there were so many pieces of work by Mr. Bird and Mr. Landon as well as the writers and directors as well as producers work with that should be recognized as well. This is when I started Fans of Believe Pictures on Facebook. I've looked up to Mr. Bird and Mr. Landon's work since I can remember, starting with Michael Landon Junior's father, Michael Landon senior. Michael Landon Senior was not here to see Believe Pictures being created. I believe he would be proud of his son to see the legacy that he is leaving behind and the people's lives that he has touched. Brian Bird and Michael Landon Jr. have been two people in the movie and film industry that I have looked up to for as long as I can remember. If you have read my Landon article, then you probably already know that at that time I was a writer. I was questioning myself, not sure I was doing what I was meant to be doing as far as my writing went, but by the time the weekend was over something that happened God had open my eyes as if I was standing in front of a mirror looking at myself but I could see inside my heart in a way that I had never before realizing I was doing exactly what I was meant to do! And ever since that moment I have been humbled by the fact that I am able to be a voice for family entertainment as well as the Bird and Landon Legacy that their company, Believe Pictures Production, has created. I am just one voice. I know there are many others out there. In fact, there are 312 out there, according to our group, and I am happy to call them family. I pray that our family will grow, and that our voices will be heard.
Our society needs to bring back family television, and family time shouldn't be just about text messages, emails or what’s on social media. It should be about togetherness, love, and understanding, and there should be something on television that families can talk about around the dinner table without having to worry about what should or should not be watched or discussed.
Here's my challenge to you: pop in a DVD of a Believe Pictures film and or TV show every Saturday night, gather around the television with your family, and turn off those computers, cell phones, and tablets, just for one night a week and see what happens. Who knows you might surprise yourself and find out something new about your loved ones. :-)
